How we connect
Bromsgrove Public Realm
Following the completion of Phase one of Bromsgrove public realm improvements proposals are underway to implement phase II of the work to improve Mill Walk, The Strand, Worcester Road, Chapel Street and Church Street to a similar standard.
Bromsgrove Railway Station
The new Bromsgrove station in Aston Fields has increased capacity to four platforms with a 350-space car park and has improved frequency of the rail service between Bromsgrove and Birmingham.
The development also includes a new modern station building, covered cycle storage, direct access to local bus service through a bus/rail interchange and a taxi rank and drop off point.
A38 – Bromsgrove
The A38 Bromsgrove Corridor Major Scheme will support the sustainable growth of Bromsgrove by enhancing the A38. The scheme includes a series of junction enhancements which address locations where delay and congestion is currently experienced, and where conditions are predicted to deteriorate further without intervention.
These works will be critical in helping to support the objectives of the Bromsgrove District Plan (BDP), the Redditch Local Plan, Worcestershire’s LTP 4 and both the Worcestershire and Birmingham and Solihull Strategic Economic Plans (SEP) prepared by the Local Economic Partnerships (LEP).
The scheme is currently costed at circa £38m, with funding envisaged as follows:
- 106 – Circa £5.5m
- WLEP - £7.5m
- Highways England - £2.68m
- GBSLEP – £2.27m
- Housing Infrastructure Fund - £10.2m
